Justin Bieber Called This Dreamy Icelandic Lodge the ‘Best Trip of My Life’—Here’s a Look Inside

Posted on May 19, 2025 by Aditi Rao

A remote 15th-century sheep farm in northern Iceland has taken on a surprising new role: it’s where Justin Bieber is creating his next hit album.

The 31-year-old pop superstar, who has toured six continents and performed in front of huge crowds from Mexico City to Cape Town to Taipei, decided to change things up for his latest recording project. He spent a week at Eleven Deplar Farm, working on new music in their on-site Flóki Studios. Bieber described the trip as “the best trip of my life” and has shared over 20 Instagram posts documenting his creative retreat.

The farm, now a 13-room adventure lodge, is nestled in the dramatic Fljót Valley on Iceland’s Tröllaskagi peninsula near the Arctic Circle. Surrounded by rugged mountains, pristine rivers, and crashing ocean waves, it offers guests a chance to escape city life and enjoy activities like horseback riding, fly fishing, fat biking, and heli-skiing.

During his stay, Bieber posted photos of himself heli-skiing, sitting by campfires, playing ping pong, and walking alone along the scenic coastline. Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes and striking architecture served as the backdrop for many of his photos. Wildlife shots were also included, credited to wildlife photographer Rory Kramer, who accompanied him on the trip.

Guests at Eleven Deplar Farm stay in “off-grid stylish cabins” featuring living roofs, floor-to-ceiling windows, and cozy touches like driftwood, Icelandic wood, and stones from the nearby Fljótaá River. The lodge offers 10 king bedrooms (five with sleeping lofts), two queen rooms, and one with bunk beds. For fitness enthusiasts, there’s a gym equipped with Peloton bikes, rowing machines, and free weights, plus a yoga and Pilates studio. Relaxation options include a 5,000-square-foot spa with three treatment rooms, a geothermal pool, floating tanks, cold plunge pools, and a sound bath studio.

The farm and studio posted on Instagram, “Thank you, @justinbieber, for bringing your talent and energy to Deplar Farm and Flóki Studios. Between heli-laps, cold plunges, and time in the studio, it was an unforgettable week. Your sound, in this setting, was pure magic—we’re grateful to have shared it with you and your crew.”

Eleven Deplar Farm is part of Eleven Experiences, an adventure hospitality brand with lodges in Patagonia, the French Alps, British Columbia, the Bahamas, and Colorado. They also offer guided global adventures centered on fly fishing, skiing, hiking, biking, mountaineering, water sports, and music.

Bieber has long loved Iceland, having filmed his 2015 music video for “I’ll Show You” on the country’s southern coast. That video, which has over 534 million views on YouTube, features iconic Icelandic locations like Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Reynisfjara black sand beach, and the abandoned plane at Sólheimasandur. He also shot scenes at Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, which gained fame from Game of Thrones and became so popular it was temporarily closed to tourists in 2019.
