Turns out, even superstar moms know how to embarrass their kids — and Mariah Carey is no exception.

The 56-year-old music icon made an unexpected cameo during her 13-year-old son Moroccan Cannon’s live Twitch stream on Thursday, much to his hilarious embarrassment. Moroccan, whose father is Nick Cannon, was streaming from his bedroom on the popular gaming platform when the moment happened.

Early in the stream, Moroccan muted his mic while chatting with someone off-screen. After unmuting, he apologized to his audience, saying, “Sorry, chat. My mom is here.”

Soon enough, viewers caught a glimpse of Moroccan’s twin sister, Monroe, in the background — and then Mariah herself popped into frame, crouching down while holding a small dog. Trying to salvage the situation, Moroccan politely (but desperately) asked, “Y’all need to get out, now. Everybody get out. Mom, they can see you.”

Wearing a Kirby beanie, Moroccan covered his face in frustration as his chat exploded with excitement over Mariah’s surprise appearance. Despite his best efforts to keep the stream on track, Mariah waved to viewers, causing even more chaos.

In the end, Moroccan had to turn off his camera, though his voice could still be heard asking his famous family to leave, with an exasperated but affectionate, “Bro, get out. Oh, my God. I love you, Mom.”

Even global icons can’t resist popping into their kids’ rooms — and embarrassing them in front of the whole internet.
