Drake Says Justin Bieber Didn’t Respond to His Instagram Messages About a Potential Collaboration

Posted on September 1, 2025April 15, 2025 by Aditi Rao

Justin Bieber might be cooking up new music — and fans are hoping it includes a reunion with Drake.

On Sunday, April 6, Bieber, 31, surprised his followers by posting an Instagram carousel featuring a few mysterious photos and a dark selfie. The caption simply read, “Dm me if u wanna make music together.”

The casual invite quickly caught the attention of fans and fellow musicians alike. Among the notable names who responded? None other than Drake, 38.

“I DM’d but no reply,” Drake joked in the comments, hinting that he was ready to jump back into the studio with Bieber. Despite the playful comment, Bieber hasn’t publicly replied to Drake — or to other artists like Big Sean, Kehlani, Jaden Smith, and Bailey Zimmerman, who also expressed interest.

Fans Are Ready

Drake’s comment went viral almost instantly, racking up nearly 42,000 likes and sparking a wave of excitement across social media. One fan commented, “we better see a collab soon,” while another joked on X (formerly Twitter), “Him and Drake on a song goes triple platinum btw.”

The buzz isn’t without reason — Bieber and Drake have a musical history. Over a decade ago, in 2012, they collaborated on “Right Here” from Bieber’s Believe album. Although the track peaked modestly at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, fans have long wanted another team-up between the two Canadian superstars.

A New Era for Both?

The playful exchange comes at a time when both artists seem to be entering fresh creative phases. Drake recently dropped his single “Nokia,” from his Some Sexy Songs 4 U project with Partynextdoor. Meanwhile, Bieber has been teasing fans with hints of new music, sharing behind-the-scenes photos of studio sessions earlier this year.

Bieber hasn’t released a solo studio album since Justice in 2021, but judging by the growing clues — and the eager DMs from fellow musicians — 2025 might be the year we hear much more from him.

Whether or not Drake and Bieber actually reunite for a new song, fans are more than ready. And judging by the excitement, whatever they create next could be a massive hit.
