“During the trip, protesters managed to project images onto the side of Windsor Castle of Trump, standing next to his good friend Jeff…,” Fallon started. “Goldblum,” the announcer continued.
He then dropped the bit and continued mocking Trump, uninterrupted, focusing on his trip to the U.K. and the comments he made about the close relationship between the country and the U.S. “Trump is like the only closer bond I share is with Prince Andrew,” Fallon said.
Guests on the show included Jude Law, Jonathan Groff and NBC Nightly News Anchor Tom Llamas, with only Law briefly mentioning the matter and saying he hopes Fallon remains on air.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! was suspended on Wednesday after Kimmel made some comments about the alleged murderer of Charlie Kirk.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said on his show.
While Fallon has largely stayed away from politics on his show, his name has been brought into the political conversation by Trump, who said that he would also want him fired.
“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done,” Trump wrote late Wednesday. “Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT,” the post read.
